Are you an exceptional communicator with experience in public right of way and want to develop your career within Highways?
Cumbria County Council’s Highways service have two fantastic Countryside Access Officer opportunities!
As a Countryside Access Officer, you will become part of a team that not only carry out the council’s duty to survey and maintain the vast rights of way network in Cumbria but also work on projects to improve the network. Your work will also involve working on the three National Trails and working with Natural England further develop the new England Coast Path and start work on the Coast to Coast route. Therefore a good working knowledge of project management will be required.
The work will also involve the maintenance of the definitive map and statement, work on traffic regulation orders and liaison with the general public, contractors, landowners and utility companies.
Who we are looking for
Ideal applicants will be committed to personal development and may wish to work towards qualifications. You will have a good knowledge of rights of way regarding maintenance and their legal recording. The work will require you to access all the networks throughout Cumbria and to hold a current UK driving license
